Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh – The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in India has achieved a remarkable milestone by completing three successive years of non-stop online Mantra (japa) meditation. This marathon spiritual endeavour, involving 1801 devotees from multiple locations across the world, was conducted via the Zoom platform from May 1, 2021, to May 31, 2024. The dedication and perseverance of the ISKCON community were recognized and celebrated with an official certification from the World Book of Records.
The certificate was presented to His Holiness Loknath Swami Maharaj of ISKCON by World Book of Records officials Abhishek Kaushik, Priya Sharma, and Mohit Sharma.
The initiative began as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which limited in-person gatherings. However, it evolved into a global spiritual movement, with participants from various countries joining in the continuous chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra. The use of Zoom allowed devotees to stay connected and support each other in their spiritual practices despite the physical distances. H. H. Loknath Swami Maharaj expressed his gratitude for the recognition and praised the collective effort of all the devotees involved. “This achievement is not just a record but a testament to the power of collective devotion and the resilience of our community,” he said. The World Book of Records officials commended ISKCON for their unwavering commitment and innovative use of technology to foster global spiritual unity. This achievement underscores the organization’s ability to adapt and thrive in challenging times, inspiring countless others in their spiritual journeys.
