London: Mr Santosh Shukla (President and CEO, World Book of Records) has officially informed that Mr. Virendra Sharma, Five-time British MP in the Parliament of England and senior leader of Labour Party has been nominated as honourable patron of World Book of Records UK. On this occasion, Mr. Shukla said that his leadership would be pioneering in expanding its horizons in accordance with guidelines of the organization. Besides, his insightful navigation will add more activities, events and personalities in all Continent of WBR’s success stories and will assist in further success.
Significantly, Mr. Virendra Sharma was first elected as MP in the Ealing Southall by-election on 19 July 2007. The by-election was called following the death of the sitting Labour MP, Piara Khabra. Mr. Sharma’s arrival in Parliament was the end of one long chapter of public service and the beginning of another. Since 2007 he has been elected three more times, each with significantly increased majorities. Most recently, in 2017, he was re-elected with a majority of over 22,000. Mr. Sharma was born in Mandalhi in Punjab, India and speaks fluent English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu. He is married with a grown-up son and daughter and 3 grandchildren. He served as a councillor in Ealing for 25 years including a term as Mayor. The grandfather-of-three came to Hanwell from India in 1968.
